Mount El-Banat or Jabal El-Banat
It is a great mountain facing Sarbal, separated by the Firan Valley. There have been many narrations about why it was given this name, the most famous of which is that some of the girls of the desert fled from their families. To get rid of marrying someone they did not love, they took refuge in this mountain, and they chased them there, so they tied their braids together and threw themselves into the valley, and they became martyrs of freedom.
A monk from the Sinai Monastery confirmed to me that in the past there was a monastery for nuns on this mountain. If this news is true, it is not unlikely that some Arabs attacked the monastery and tried to rape the nuns, so they threw themselves into the valley for fear of scandal, and this was the story.

Saint Catherine Monastery
On the slopes of Mount Sinai, where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God, lies one of the oldest operating monasteries in the world. Known as the Monastery of Saint Catherine, its actual name is โHoly Monastery of God of Mount Sinai.โ It was built by order of Byzantine Emperor Justinian I (527-565 AD) in 548-565 AD to house monks who had been living in the Sinai Peninsula since the 4th century AD.
Saint Catherine was martyred in the early fourth century AD. The monastery bears her name because her monks discovered her body near Mount Saint Catherine in the ninth century AD, where it was placed by angels after her martyrdom.
The monastery includes multiple structures, the most important of which is the Church of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior, which itself includes nine smaller churches. One of these churches is the burning church in which God spoke to the Prophet Moses. St. Catherine’s Monastery also includes ten other churches, monks’ quarters, a refectory, an olive press, ossuaries, a 12th-century AD Fatimid mosque, and a library housing 6,000 rare books.

Weather
Saint Catherine's unique weather is due to its 1600-meter-high mountains and valleys. We prefer to run this trip in spring and autumn when the daytime temperatures are lower and more pleasant for trekking (usually ranging from 15 to 30 ยฐC). But we run a lot of other hikes during the winter and summer with prepared hikers. Winter nights can be really cold, but blankets and sleeping bags are provided for safety. Accurate data is crucial for understanding the weather conditions, as the trip date approaches. we will be able to gather information about the weather conditions that we are going to face. Weโve got to be well prepared for all conditionsโthe hot weather and the cold weather, with the right clothes and good equipment.
Accommodation
The Bedouins usually sleep under the stars. They call it the million-star hotel. But sometimes there will be camping nights in the gardens equipped with Rocky rooms by the Bedouins; some of them contain mattresses and blankets, and sometimes we will camp our way through the pristine Sinai Trail. You will learn basic camping skills and how to set up a tent. Everyone should have a tent and a sleeping bag suitable for all seasons to ensure that there is enough space to make you all feel comfortable. A 3- or 4-season sleeping bag (depending on the time of year) will be enough to make your experience safe and comfortable.
Hiking
You donโt need to be an expert hiker to join this trip, but you do need to be fit enough to hike for at least 5โ6 hours every day in Sinai weather. You will walk through the amazing boulder-strewn wadis, dramatic switchbacks sometimes and through rocky trails or green valleys. However, each day will just keep you motivated for the next with the great company and breathtaking scenery.
Food
You will have three extremely delicious bedouin meals cooked up the wood fire all the trip, and you can also help in their preparation if you want to. Breakfast is usually eggs, cheese, beans, honey, and jam; lunch is on the lighter side with salad, grilled eggplant, tuna salad, mashed potatoes, and white cheese; and dinner is the amazing cuisine of bedouins, which is soup, pasta, rice, lentils, vegetables, meat, or chicken slow-cooked on charcoal or on the fire with some fruit.
