Mt Catherine Hike The Roof of Egypt
The Mt Catherine hike is one of Egypt’s most unforgettable hiking experiences. Located near Mount Sinai in the heart of South Sinai, this hike begins in the peaceful town of Saint Catherine and leads you through ancient trails, dramatic rock formations, and sacred history.
Mount Catherine Egypt is not only the highest mountain in the country, but also a place of legend, where the remains of Saint Catherine were said to have been found. The 10.5 km trail to the summit, mostly along the zigzagging Shaq Mousa path, rewards hikers with panoramic views, crisp mountain air, and complete silence above the clouds.
Rising to 2,642 meters, the Mt Catherine hike takes you from the town’s 1,570-meter elevation to the very rooftop of Egypt. The best time to start your hike is early morning. If you’re looking for a hike that challenges your body and uplifts your spirit, Mount Catherine Egypt is calling.
