Hike Itlah Valley, or Wadi Itlah, is located in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, in Saint Catherine City. It’s in the west of Saint Catherine City. 3 hours from Sharm El-Sheikh, 1.5 hours from Dahab, and 6 hours from Cairo.

Wadi Itlah is one of the old valleys where the nomadic spend the winter; it’s a really warm valley for the winter. and it also has some old houses for the nomads. The distance from Saint Catherine City to the wadi is almost 2 km, with rocky and sandy trails. There is Canyoun at the end of the trail, for a total distance of 6.15 km.

We could meet Dr. Ahmed Mansour, the famous herbalist and healer of the tribe; he lives in that valley. They say he is the last one of the herblists in the Sinai wilderness. He knows really well about tradition and custmos. If we are lucky enough, we will find him in his garden because he mostly leave in the morning for the mountains.

The best time to start the hike from Saint Catherine City is in the morning. The height of the wadi is 1400 metres above sea level, and the height of St. Catherine City is 1570 metres above sea level.
